A popular employer

“We've long been aware that Orkla is highly regarded by students, and Universum’s survey now shows that we’re popular among professionals too,” says Kristine Berg Meland, who is in charge of employer branding and recruitment at Orkla.

“We are very proud that Orkla is associated with a creative, dynamic job environment, that we’re known to recruit top talent and that a job at Orkla is considered to offer exciting development opportunities,” says Kristine.

The Corporate Centre’s most recent employee, Senior Category Analyst Hanne Kvareng, mentions factors such as reputation, a dynamic job environment and career opportunities when explaining why she wanted to work at Orkla. Several of the Universum survey findings match her impressions of Orkla when she applied for a position here:

“Orkla is a respected Norwegian company with a good reputation that I’ve heard a lot of positive things about. Major changes are taking place here, there’s a lot going on and I think that’s exciting. Orkla’s entire value chain is in-house. That offers you opportunities for building your career in Norway, while also being able to travel abroad to work. Having the whole value chain in-house also means that we are closer to the people making the decisions and have closer contact with management than in other corporations.

Hanne has now worked in Orkla Group Procurement for three weeks and her impression of Orkla has already been confirmed:

“There are major changes in progress and the pace is fast here, perhaps especially in my department since Orkla’s purchasing function is now being centralised. The learning curve at Orkla is steep, which I consider a big advantage. In the early stages of your career, it’s important to be someplace where you learn a lot fast, and that’s what I’m doing at Orkla. Orkla is also a place with good career and development opportunities.”
