KiMs Naturchips will be Nyt Norge labelled

KIMs Naturchips

KiMs Naturchips is the first snack product to be approved to use the Nyt Norge label.

The Nyt Norge information label shows that a food product is made of Norwegian raw materials and is produced in Norway. Nyt Norge is managed by Matmerk, the Norwegian Agricultural Quality System and Food Branding foundation, set up by the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

“At KiMs we are proud that KiMs Naturchips is the first snack product to be approved to use the Nyt Norge label,” says product manager Malin Iren Haug.

On 1st February this year, KiMs launched new KiMs Naturchips, a crisp potato chip within the “hand-cooked” segment. The term “hand-cooked” refers to the fact that the potato chips are fried in separate small portions. These potato chips are produced at Toten, Norway in collaboration with chef Odd Ivar Solvold.

“We know that many consumers like this type of chips, but there are many people who find them a little too hard. We have examined this problem, and we have reviewed the whole production process. After extensive testing we have now managed to make a potato chip which is crisp, but not too hard,” says Haug.

The Naturchips series consists of SjøSalt (Sea Salt), Grom Paprika (Exquisite Paprika) and Spicy Rømme Drøm (Sour Cream Dream).
