Orkla Confectionery & Snacks named this year’s winner of the Orkla Growth Prize

On 31 May, Orkla Confectionery & Snacks entered the stage to receive honour, praise and the most prestigious prize of all at the 2017 Orkla Growth Awards ceremony.

The jury emphasised Orkla Confectionery & Snacks’ ability to create broad-based growth in all markets. As stated in the jury’s grounds:

“This year’s winner can boast broad-based growth in all its markets. They have achieved this by launching tasty innovations, while also managing to focus on strong growth initiatives in their core business.”

President and CEO Peter A. Ruzicka presented the prize at the Orkla Growth Awards ceremony held at The Qube at Oslo Airport Gardermoen on Wednesday evening:

“Successful innovations are absolutely essential for creating growth. I am delighted to see the high calibre of the finalists in this year’s Growth Awards and all the good work that is done across the Orkla companies to generate growth,” says Peter A. Ruzicka.

The other awards presented were:

  • Innovation: Naturli' Foods A/S (Naturli')
  • Brand & Packaging Design: Orkla Care AB (Cederroth First Aid Kits) 
  • Consumer Communication: Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Norge (Smash!)
  • Best Sales Growth Initiative: Jotun (The Jotun Way) 
  • Brand Strength: Orkla Health (Möller’s)
  • Best Operations Initiative: Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Norge (Rapid assessment Nidar factory) 
  • Best One Orkla Initiative: Orkla Health and Vitana (Cross production & sales)

A CSR prize was also awarded, which went to Pierre Robert Group and Orkla Foods Sverige.

The Orkla Growth Awards were held this year for the 17th time. From a total of 169 nominations in seven different growth and innovation categories, 35 finalists were selected. A new feature this year was the introduction of the Brand Strength and CSR awards.

This year’s jury was chaired by Peter A. Ruzicka and otherwise comprised Atle Vidar Nagel Johansen, Stig Ebert Nilssen, Ann-Beth Freuchen, Pål Eikeland, Karl Otto Tveter, Maria Borge Andreassen, Mirjam Hamnen and Arve Heltne.
