Orkla to present an innovation award at JA Norway’s Company of the Year Competition

On Friday, 5 May, President and CEO Peter A. Ruzicka will present the Orkla Innovation Award at JA Norway’s Company of the Year Competition for secondary school pupils.

The contenders in JA Norway’s Company of the Year Competition are 76 in-school companies established by 400 young entrepreneurs. Orkla is a member of the jury for the Innovation Award, in a competition that rewards innovative goods and products.“Innovation is important for us. We think it’s fantastic to have the opportunity to join JA Norway (Ungt Entreprenørskap) in supporting the inventiveness of young people. With this award we want to stimulate the creativity that we know is out there,” says Peter A. Building bridges between schools and the business community

In 2016, over 25 000 young people participated in JA Norway’s programmes, and over 27 000 persons from working life and business and industry were involved in various ways in JA Norway’s in-school activities. Around 2 000 of them have served as mentors for the in-school companies.

Orkla and JA Norway

  • Orkla wants to support the creativity of young people and entered into a partnership with JA Norway in September 2016.
  • JA Norway works to establish closer ties between business and industry and schools, and to give secondary school pupils experience in innovation and starting a business.
  • Under the cooperation agreement, Orkla will sit on the jury for and will present the Orkla Innovation Award at JA Norway’s Company of the Year Competition on 4-5 May 2017.
