Procordia expands its range of beverages

Procordia has bought Norrmejerier’s JOKK brand, thereby strengthening its position in the fruit and berry drink sector.

Under the agreement, Procordia will take over the JOKK brand from Norrmejerier Ekonomisk Förening as from January 2013. JOKK consists of a range of berry drinks, which are available both as a concentrate and as ready-to-drink beverages. JOKK has an annual turnover of around SEK 65 million.

“JOKK is a premium brand featuring high-quality beverages, which complete our product range. This purchase is entirely in line with our business development strategy, and will enable us to reinforce our position in the fruit and berry drink segment,” says Mikael Aru, Managing Director of Procordia.

JOKK berry drinks will be manufactured at Norrmejerier until March 2013. Production will then be moved to Procordia’s factory in Kumla. However, Procordia has entered into a three-year agreement with Norrmejerier under which the latter will continue to press berries to make juice concentrate at its berry pressing facility in Hedenäset, as at present.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
