High level of engagement at Orkla

There is a high level of engagement among Orkla employees and a great many of them are willing to make an extra effort for the company they work in, as can be seen from Orkla’s employee opinion survey.

In autumn 2010, Orkla carried out a Group-wide employee opinion survey, in which Orkla Brands, Sapa, Borregaard and the central corporate functions participated. The objective of the survey was to gauge employee engagement and investigate employees’ perceptions of the company’s ability to achieve results and provide customer satisfaction, as well as other relevant factors in the workplace.

The employee opinion survey could be taken both online and on paper and was translated into all the local languages. Orkla achieved an overall response rate of close to 75%, which is considered extremely good for this type of survey. This has given the different companies a good basis for identifying areas for improvement and implementing relevant measures to ensure profitable development and growth. There is emphasis on ensuring that this process is carried out as a dialogue between management and employees.

Within the broad range of Orkla’s operations, the survey results naturally vary, but for the Group as a whole they show a high level of employee engagement. A great many employees are willing to make an extra effort for the company they work for. It is very gratifying to see this commitment, which we will focus on maintaining in the months and years ahead.
