Whistle-blowing

It is crucial that managers and employees comply with legislation and rules and conduct themselves in an ethical manner if Orkla is to attain its goals.

Orkla’s view on corporate responsibility and Orkla’s code of conduct are presented in the Orkla Corporate Manual, in Orkla's guidelines for Corporate Social Responsibility and Orkla's Code of Conduct.

If employees experience matters that may be in conflict with rules and regulations or Orkla’s code of conduct, they are urged to raise their concern with their immediate superior or another manager in the company. Orkla stresses that Group companies are required to protect whistle blowers against retaliation. Whistle-blowers are also protected under the Norwegian Working Environment Act.

Orkla has also established a whistle-blowing function designed to give employees and others the opportunity to alert the Group’s governing bodies about possible breaches of Orkla’s ethical guidelines if it is difficult to raise the matter locally. The function is administered by Orkla’s Internal Audit on behalf of Orkla’s Audit Committee. Orkla’s whistle-blowing function is thus organised independently of Orkla’s line management.
