For the seventh year in a row, Orkla is featured in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe.

“Being included in one of the world’s most highly regarded sustainability indices is an important recognition of the work we do in this area, and will serve as inspiration for further efforts,” says Ellen Behrens, VP Corporate Responsibility at Orkla.

“Good management of sustainability related risks and opportunities is important for a company´s long term value and something that an increasing number of investors focus on.”

The Dow Jones index is considered by many to be the world’s most important ranking of companies’ environmental and corporate responsibility performance, and is a key yardstick used by investors and other stakeholders to assess companies’ non-financial results.

“In the past few years, Orkla has intensified its efforts in important areas such as nutrition and health, responsible sourcing and environment, and we are glad that our work has been noticed,” Ellen Behrens says.

The prestigious Dow Jones index covers the best 20 per cent of a total of 600 European companies, and Orkla is one of three companies in the FOA Food Products category. The other companies are Danone and Nestlé.
