Sustainability

Print/ Tip

Orkla is committed to operating in accordance with responsible, ethical and sound business principles throughout the value chain, making stringent demands on our own activities and in relation to our impact on the environment and society at large.

Our environmental and corporate responsibility work is based on the recognition of the fundamental obligation of business and industry to operate in a sustainable manner, with respect for people and the environment. At the same time, Orkla companies make commercially motivated investments in new technology, product development and systematic improvement processes that contribute constructively to efforts to solve climate and energy challenges and meet other societal needs.

All stakeholders must be able to have confidence in Orkla’s activities and products. Consequently, the more than 100 companies in the Group focus systematically on the quality assurance of products and production processes. To be worthy of our customers’ and society’s trust, we also consider it important that our companies are able to understand their role in society and ensure that they operate responsibly in every area, thereby taking account of the needs of both present and future generations. A sustainable society is created through constructive interaction between the public authorities, business and industry and society at large. Orkla’s goal is to ensure that its operations create positive ripple effects and long-term value for its shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers and the communities in which we operate.

Orkla is a member of the UN Global Compact and supports the initiative’s ten universal principles. Through clearly defined attitudes, active influence and targeted improvement efforts, Orkla companies will help to promote human rights, good working and environmental standards and zero tolerance for corruption.
