BBH acquires malt house in Ukraine

Baltic Beverages Holding (BBH), together with its subsidiary Slavutich Brewery, has acquired a 48.5% holding in the Ukrainian Slavuta malt house to ensure long term availability of local raw materials. The intention is to increase the ownership to above 70% in the near future.

Slavuta is the largest malt house in Ukraine with an annual capacity of 80 000 tonnes of malt. The malt house was built at the beginning of the 1990s, and is located in the north western part of the country.

BBH is a 50-50 joint-venture owned by Orkla`s beverage company Pripps Ringnes and Hartwall. BBH operates a total of nine breweries, four of which are located in the Baltic States, four in Russia and one in Ukraine.
