BBH becomes a shareholder in an Ukrainian brewery

Baltic Beverages Holding AB (BBH) has acquired a 24.5% holding in the Koloss brewery, which is located in the city of Lviv in the west of Ukraine. BBH will increase its ownership to 42% when the antimonopoly authority`s permission is obtained.

Koloss has an annual capacity of 50 million litres and about 500 employees.

The acquisition of the Koloss brewery will strengthen BBH`s market position in Ukraine. BBH has since 1996 a majority ownership stake in the Slavutich brewery in the eastern Ukraine.

BBH is a 50-50 joint venture owned by Orkla`s beverage company Pripps Ringnes and the Finnish brewery Hartwall. BBH operates a total of nine breweries, four of which are located in the Baltic States, four in Russia and one in Ukraine.
