BBH increases its interest in Kolos

Baltic Beverages Holding AB (BBH), which is owned equally by Orkla's beverage company Pripps Ringnes and the Finnish company Hartwall, has purchased additional shares in the Ukrainian brewery Kolos in the town of Lviv in Ukraine. BBH's shareholding is thereby increased from 41.6% to 50.3%. At the same time, agreements have been signed with a number of the larger shareholders in Kolos, whereby BBH's shareholding will increase to 92.3% in the course of the summer.

Kolos is the leading brewery in western Ukraine and has a production capacity of 50 million litres and a workforce of around 500 employees. A modernisation programme has been initiated at the brewery to upgrade quality and rationalise operations.

BBH has interests in 11 breweries in Eastern Europe, five of which are located in Russia, two in Ukraine and four in the Baltic States.
