The Orkla Home & Personal business area is now changing its name to Orkla Care, which is a more accurate description of this part of the Group. At the same time, Lilleborg, which is part of the business area, is changing its company name to Orkla Home & Personal Care.
“In the light of our expansion in the Nordic region and increased internationalisation, we found it necessary to review the names of both the business area and the different companies. The name Care has been chosen because it is an appropriate description of the various categories in which we are present. Care reflects our concern for people’s well-being in terms of clean clothing and housing, personal wellness and health,” says Stig Ebert Nilssen, Orkla EVP and CEO of Orkla Care.
Lilleborg’s change of name to Orkla Home & Personal Care is the result of a stated strategy to strengthen Orkla’s focus outside Norway. The name change also highlights the fact that Orkla is the leading Nordic branded consumer goods company.
The new name Orkla Care covers the five branded consumer goods companies that primarily serve their home Nordic market: Lilleborg/Orkla Home & Personal Care (personal care and household cleaning products), Lilleborg Profesjonell (full-range supplier of hygiene and cleaning solutions for the professional market), Orkla Health (dietary supplements and health products), Pierre Robert Group (basic textiles) and Orkla House Care (painting tools and household cleaning products).
Lilleborg Profesjonell and Pierre Robert Group will retain their present company names.
In August this year, Orkla’s acquisition of the Swedish company Cederroth was approved by the competition authorities in the various countries. Cederroth has operations in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Poland and Spain. The company has four factories.
Cederroth and its various categories will be integrated with the companies Orkla Home & Personal Care (formerly Lilleborg) and Orkla Health. The combined companies in Sweden, Denmark and Finland will be named Orkla Care AB, Orkla Care A/S and Orkla Care Oy.
The Orkla Care business area will have a total annual turnover of NOK 6.5 billion and will operate in seven countries.
