UN's sustainable development goals
Global sustainability challenges call for concerted efforts by business and industry and government authorities. Orkla…
Orkla became a signatory to the UN Global Compact in 2005.
The commitment to Global Compact means that Orkla is one of more than 12,000 companies and organisations that are committed to promoting Global Compact’s Ten Principles on human and workers’ rights, the environment and anti-corruption efforts. We engage with other participants in the network for common learning and sharing of experiences. Through our sustainability efforts, we also contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.
– The Global Compact Ten Principles have been useful in guiding the development of Orkla’s own Corporate Responsibility guidelines, says President & CEO of Orkla, Peter A. Ruzicka.
Participation in the Global Compact obliges Orkla to make annual status reports. Orkla uses the Sustainability Report to document the Group’s efforts in these.
The United Nations Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
